"Childhood is a time of wonder." is a quote from Mildred W. Frazer, the founder of the center.
Located
in the quiet neighborhood of Hollin Hall, just north of George
Washington’s Mount Vernon estate, A Child’s Place at Hollin Hall has
been serving the needs of children in the local community for over 25
years. We are committed to the care and education of children and
strive to make our school a welcoming and fun place for them.
A Child’s Place at Hollin Hall takes pride in serving the working
families in our area with a full-day, year-round preschool program for
students ages 2 – 5. We provide a morning snack, a hot catered lunch
and an afternoon snack, as well as a comprehensive curriculum with
emphasis on reading, math and science skills. Additionally, the
children receive added enrichment each week through programs in music,
art, physical education and Spanish.
For school-aged children, we offer before and after school care (SACC)
for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, and a full-time
summer camp program which begins as soon as the school year ends.
Students in our SACC program can choose between quiet activities such
as homework room or reading, or they may choose to socialize with
their friends, either outside on our newly renovated playground or
indoors in our fully-equipped game room or arts and crafts room.
We look forward to welcoming new families into our A Child’s Place
community for many years to come!
