In the late 1930's, a young woman named Mildred Frazer saw a need for quality childcare in the area and decided to start a center for young children. In 1939 she opened her first location in Annandale, Virginia. Since then, she grew her vision into four local preschools designed to serve the local communities. A Child's Place at Hollin Hall was opened at its current location in 1981 and has been in operation ever since.
Carrying on Mildred Frazer's vision, A Child’s Place at Hollin Hall provides two essential services for local working parents. We provide a nurturing learning preschool environment for children ages 2 -5. We pride ourselves on not only teaching them the building blocks for their educational needs, but also important life and social skills which will help them throughout their growing years.
We also provide a school-aged program for students in kindergarten through sixth grade where children can be in a safe and pleasant location to begin their day before school or wind down after their day at elementary school. When the school year ends, we offer a full-day summer camp for elementary school aged children which runs the enture summer.
Our teachers and counselors interact with the students daily in a positive and inclusive manner to ensure that all of the children feel welcome and important. The daily smiles are truly a reward for our staff at the end of each day!
